How Did Stan Kroenke Make His Money

Kroenke's fortune includes his ownership of the Los Angeles Rams, an NFL franchise. It's valued based on a January 2021 report by valuation consultants Sportico. Kroenke's assumed to own the whole franchise as no minority partners have been disclosed.

He also owns Arsenal Football Club, which is valued based on a May 2021 report by sports valuation consultants Sportico.

Kroenke has ranches comprising about 2 million acres in the U.S. and Canada. They're valued using land value data compiled by USDA and Farm Canada Credit.

He holds commercial real estate through the Kroenke Group, and THF Realty. Together, they own more than 200 properties, according to data compiled by Real Capital Analytics. Each property is individually valued using average occupancy rates, rent per square foot, and cap rates according to data from Real Capital Analytics, Marcus & Millichap, and Cushman & Wakefield. Because the billionaire owns THF Realty with co-founder Michael Staenberg, he's credited with half of THF's property holdings.

Along with the Rams, Kroenke has interests in five professional sports teams and one sports stadium through Denver-based Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. The values of the Denver Nuggets (basketball), Colorado Avalanche (hockey), Colorado Rapids (soccer) and Colorado Mammoth (lacrosse) teams are based on revenue, comparable franchise expansion fees and sales, venue leases, sponsorship and media contracts. He's assumed to own all these teams outright because no other partners have been disclosed.

A $1.5 billion liability is included to reflect the cost of acquiring these assets.

Kroenke declined to comment on his net worth, according to spokesman Tomago Collins.
